In 2002, Crewest Gallery was founded by Los Angeles artist Man One and business partner Harry Reynolds to help graffiti artists and independent underground artists exhibit and commercialize their art. Initially located in Alhambra, California, Crewest Gallery relocated in 2006 to the newly formed Gallery Row in Downtown Los Angeles where it operated until 2012. In ten years, Crewest Gallery produced over 100 art exhibitions featuring over 2000 artists from more than 20 countries. In 2010, Crewest Gallery was honored by the LA City Council for its positive impact on the culture and economic development of DTLA. Critically acclaimed for its cutting edge programming, Crewest Gallery declared “mission accomplished” in 2012 and closed its doors. Today, many of the artists Crewest help to platform are well known and commercially successful such as Marka27, Logan Hicks, Estevan Oriol, Slick, DabsMyla, Retna, Chaz Bojorquez among many others.
